How to make a fashionable halter top from a scarf

As seen on Tyra Banks.
I love the top in this picture but this is not the one in question. This just looks cool and sexy on Tyra.

But here goes for you and me..........
It has to be a square scarf (halter top) 36-41”
Pull up the scarf and tie a knot in the middle-make sure the shiny patterned side faces outward and take the corners and wrap it around your neck then take the other side and wrap it around your back. Make sure the knot is very secure so that you will not have a wardrobe malfunction.

Doing more with vintage

We are trying to do more with vintage. Last summer when I was home in the states I visited several vintage shops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Dallas for wear to put on the shop. It was a blast. Loads of colour and classic looks. Most of it has already gone.
Just the other day I went to Notting Hill and found some fabulous tops for me and to sell. I love shopping in Westbourne Grove. Yes it's very, "I saw you coming" but you can find some really good deals in some of the thrift shops but some of it is very OTT. I love the Japanese screen print vest over a ragged edge white longsleeve tee.

The canary yellow cha cha blouse

This is a really cool canary yellow blouse. On the site it is listed as cha-cha. It's a beautiful yellow with a nice 70s collar. It looks great with a black skirt, boot cut jeans or nice black gabardine trousers.

What we're doing at Amartab

I have been away for far too long. We have made a lot of changes at Amartab; added a lot of new vintage items, sold a lot of the newer items and at the moment planning a May sale.

My Vivienne Westwood bargain

I found this bargain at a shop in Ladbroke Grove. It's a great Vivienne Westwood piece that was discounted due to a barely noticeable problem with the hem. Thank goodness my friend Gail who is a seamstress managed to take care of it. Looking forward to wearing it to the concert weekend after next. Now I hope I can find some black gladiators heels or boots to go with it.

Classic and simple for a Friday

Shopping online is the best and especially when you don't have time to make it to the shops. This dress by Sutton Studio Bloomingdale's is very comfortable and I love the classic style of the cut with the slight cowl neckline. It looks great with black open toe pumps. This is a cute dress in the claret and chocolate but I stuck with my favourite safe colour black.
